Summary: Jo is a Laughter Facilitator and practising Bowen Therapist, also qualified in Holistic Massage, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage.
Personal statement: My passion is sharing fun and laughter to promote physical health and emotional well-being.
I worked in the corporate sector for many years delivering training and facilitating workshops and seminars in order to support and develop people to reach their full potential. I believe that the skills and experience I gained over 20 years is now being utilised in a much more fun and fulfilling way.
I was forced to re-evaluate my life and my priorities in 2002 when health problems forced me to give up work completely. In the intervening years, I focused on managing my health and learning to live a different life with limitations which makes you appreciate every moment and every new opportunity. As my strength, stamina and confidence started to improve, I embraced opportunities to volunteer in the community and work with other vulnerable people living with long term health conditions.
Volunteering in health management and the community gave me a totally new perspective and the confidence to pursue a more fulfilling career to support others to improve their health and manage stress. After attending a laughter session with fellow Laughter Network member, Jo Eadie, I knew I had found what I wanted to do!
I trained as a Laughter Yoga Leader and Laughter Facilitator with the Laughter Network and also trained in the Bowen Technique - I now believe I have found the perfect balance between work, rest and play – laughter and a holistic approach to good health go hand in hand.
I have now set up “Laughter For Health” which focuses very much on the health benefits of laughter. I believe in giving people the opportunity to have more control of their health and a more positive outlook on the challenges in their lives by managing stress and improving their physical health and emotional well-being through the power of laughter in order to become healthier and happier.
“Laugh more, enjoy life more.”
