The Courage to Be Discovering and Playing with your Innter Clown
Date: Course of 3 weekends 31 March/ 1 April and 21/22 April and 12/13 May, 2012
Time: 10:00am-5:00pm
Venue: Eastbourne Arts, Bethnal Green, London E2
Cost: £375
The word 'courage' comes from a root that means 'heart'.
Through clowning and connecting to our playful spirit we can develop and sustain, in ourselves and each other, the heart to be who we truly are, to trust life and ourselves.
'Taking heart' is a profoundly inward process, and an invitation to overcome the fears that block us from being fully present in the here and now.
Come find that free, fun, spontaneous part of you that copes with life without being concerned about getting it right or being clever all the time.
This approach to clowning is not a technique (tricks, gags or routines) but a personal journey towards finding your own unique way of being a clown.
Through play, games and short improvisations we will learn to let go of our control over things and be surprised by what reveals itself to us.
Lighthearted and playful weekends that will build confidence, develop a sense of wellbeing and above all provide plenty of fun and laughter!
The work and the group, will build over the three weekends. The group size is limited to 12.
Facilitator: Carol Thompson has been a teacher and trainer for most of her career...a teacher of Drama, English, Theatre, Communication Skills, Laughter Leading, Play and finally the combination and culmination of all that, a teacher of Clowning. About 6 years ago she started working with Vivian Gladwell of Nose to Nose and learned the ways of the clown for herself and then went on to train as a facilitator of clowning in order to help others discover and play with this most magical part of themselves.
